Digestive Aid (#1706)

Internally peppermint oil is helpful for treating colds, flu and fever and especially as a digestive aid by putting a drop or two in your water bottle or cup of tea. It helps stimulate digestive fluids and bile, necessary for digesting fats and by relieving muscle spasms in the lower bowel to eliminate intestinal gas and relieving stomach cramps. Peppermint Oil relaxes the lower esophageal sphincter muscle to help with acid reflux. Put a few drops in water or tea to sip to keep it relaxed.

Peppermint oil (#1706) is also beneficial for those suffering from headaches and migraines caused by digestive disorders either by putting rubbing a few drops on the back of the neck or using a few drops internally.

Externally peppermint oil can be used on the skin as an anti-inflammatory and for pain as well as for asthma, burns, excess mucus, ringworm, sinusitis and upper respiratory infections. It has even been used as an insect repellant.

A study done with college students found students noted a great improvement in test-taking skills and examination scores after drinking peppermint tea because it increases circulation to the brain.

Do not use peppermint oil long term on the skin especially if you have sensitive skin as it could cause a reaction.
